Early Christian monks escaped the constant noise and distraction of commercial and contentious life to monasteries where they lived a life of community, work, and prayer. As they crafted the necessities for life out of materials around them they poured some of their own love for the simple and beautiful that they discovered through their commitment to the simple life. In a time where we too find many distractions and things "built disposable," we at the Domestic Monastery seek to provide a place where you can find items that uniquely harken back to a simpler time - things that are beautiful, meaningful, and meant to last. Many of these items reflect aspects of the Catholic faith that we share with those early monks, but all things that are beautiful tell the story of the craftsmen who made them, the soul of those that admire them, and, thus, reflect in a way God, Who is the Original Author of all that is good.
